PFAL was part of the consultant team led by Perkins+Will currently working on the Baton Rouge Medical Planning project that is being sponsored by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF). The intent of the BRAF sponsored Baton Rouge Medical Planning project was to define the future of a new Health District in Baton Rouge and to identify opportunities for increased collaboration among healthcare providers and academic institutions in South Baton Rouge.
The ultimate goal was to build a healthier Baton Rouge and to strengthen the local healthcare economy through shared initiatives around healthcare, health education, emergency preparedness, and land use/transportation.
PFAL was hired as the financial advisory firm to focus on the Funding and Strategic Partnership opportunities for the project elements that are identified as priority items during the planning process. Working in close collaboration with local healthcare leaders, the City, and key stakeholders/partners, PFAL identified potential funding sources and mutually beneficial trade-off opportunities to leverage new or existing available funding. There is a range of different task groups focusing on Health Care Innovation, Health Education & Research, Healthy Places, and Emergency Preparedness.
